What we need from Paris.
By Paris in December, 2015, heads of states need to agree to a plan in which all countries agree to fair commitments to reduce their GHG emissions enough to ensure that temperatures do not increase beyond 2 degrees. Such an agreement sends a signal that the world is serious about preventing dangerous climate change.
The agreement will also deal with the fact that the impacts of climate change are already occurring, and the most vulnerable countries do not have the capacity to adapt. The agreement will deliver financing to support Southern countries in adapting to climate impacts and transitioning to lower-carbon pathways.
Solutions on the ground.
Addressing climate change can seem overwhelming. But meaningful solutions are being implemented around the world, by individuals, cooperatives, businesses, communities, states and countries. On this page we will highlight some of the solutions – the aim is to inspire and show what is possible!
