Pathway to Paris is an initiative in partnership with 350.org that brings together musicians, artists, activists, academics, politicians and innovators to participate in a series of live concert events to help raise consciousness, inspire action and foster dialogue about the urgency of climate action and a the need for a rapid transition towards renewable energy and an end to fossil fuels.
Co-founded by musicians and organizers Jesse Paris Smith and Rebecca Foon, the 2015 programme of Pathway to Paris culminated with two extraordinary nights of music, speeches and calls to action at Le Trianon concert hall in Paris on December 4th and 5th.
Timed to coincide with the UN Climate Change conference (COP 21) and taking place just four weeks after the devastating Paris attacks at Le Bataclan and elsewhere, these concerts were infused with an indescribable energy of love, hope, resilience and commitment to a peaceful and sustainable future, shared by attendees, artists, speakers, technical crew and organizers alike. This album features 11 songs and 6 speeches chosen from 2 evenings at Le Trianon in Paris, December 4 and 5, 2015, capturing highlights from each artist’s performances, and including the full speeches given by some of the environmental movement’s leading lights, is now being made available as a further effort to raise consciousness.
